Dear God, I’m waiting.
Been waiting for quite a while now:
four weeks for the judge to set me free,
ten months for my new life to begin,
one year for my work to catch on,
two years for my ex to stop tormenting me,
three years for prosperity to find me.
Dear God, I’m tired of waiting.
I understand what I’m waiting for.
I see what I want.
I see what I could be doing, what I should be doing.
I see the goal, the vision, the outcome.
I just don’t see how to get there.
Here I sit. I work a little, write a little, worry a little.
I take care of my son. I read a lot, think a lot, pray a lot.
But here I sit—frozen.
A thousand years from now they’ll find me beside the Peruvian mummy,
she frozen in ice, me frozen in time:
waiting to be freed,
waiting to live,
waiting for my harvest,
waiting for peace.
Waiting for the life I want but somehow cannot find.
Dear God, where is it?
Where is the life I want,
the life You gave me,
the life I’m here to live?
Where is it hiding?
I know it’s out there.
I know it’s out there because I can see it in here.
I know You would not give me the vision
without providing the means to bring it to life.
I know You wouldn’t show it to me, unless it’s possible.
You wouldn’t let me see it, unless it is real and true.
OK, God, if it is possible in Your time,
if it is real and true in Your place,
that must mean it already exists.
It is complete and perfect in Your Mind, if nowhere else.
I want to go to Your Mind, then.
In my mind I see mostly problems.
I see all the reasons it won’t work:
all the people who won’t like it,
all the bills I won’t be able to pay,
all the roadblocks,
all the detours.
In my mind I hear: I’m stuck
In my mind I hear: I can’t
In my mind I hear: I’m waiting for
Dear God, I don’t want to wait anymore.
I want to live in Your Mind where everything is perfect:
where the life I’m here to live happens,
where my purpose is revealed and fulfilled,
where I am joyful because of my efforts,
where I make a difference.
Where my life is now—not tomorrow, not later, not maybe, now—in Divine Mind.
If, God, You are in me and I am in You,
then I am in Divine Mind right now, aren’t I?
My vision is perfect right now, isn’t it?
My life is complete and fulfilled right now, isn’t it?
Dear God, I want to live in Divine Mind, Your right-now Mind.
Please help me get there.
Help me unfreeze myself.
I give up my frozen language: stuck…can’t…waiting…
I give up my frozen thoughts: later…maybe…someday…
I give up my frozen desires: if…but…when…
Today, I step into Divine Mind where everything is in Divine Time.
Everything is now:
ready now,
complete now,
healthy now,
fulfilled now.
Everything is perfect now.
Today, dear God, I step into the marble, Your divine marble,
where Michelangelo liberated the figure that was already there.
Where I liberate my life, the life that is already there:
the freedom I already have,
the peace that already exists,
the joy and prosperity that already belong to me.
Today, dear God, I free the real life that is waiting for me.
That’s the true waiting, God, isn’t it?
Not me waiting for something to happen, but You waiting for me.
Waiting for me to know what is possible,
see what is mine and become what I am.
I won’t keep You waiting.
I promise.
